Arch—Curved or pointed construction that spans an opening
Balustrade—A railing at the side of a staircase or balcony to prevent people from falling
Buttress—Masonry structure projecting beyond a wall or fee of a wall that receives lateral pressure from construction within a building such as vaulting
Caulk—Seal with caulking
Coffering—Ceiling with deep recesses, often ornamenting
Column—A pillar set at regular intervals.
Colonnade—Series of columns
Corbel—Masonry structure projecting beyond a wall or fee of a wall that receives lateral pressure from construction within a building such as vaulting
Cloister—Masonry projection or series of stepped projections that support overhanging construction
Curtain Wall—Non-baring exterior wall that is not supported by the skeleton frame
Dome—Hemispherical roof structure that spans an area
Dormer—Small windowed structure that projects from a sloped roof
Facade—Exterior side of a building that can be seen at one view, especially the front
Feet—Lowest support of a structure
Finial—Ornament at the top of a spire or steeple
Fireplace surround—A decorative frame that surrounds the fireplace box
Fluting—Concave channels cut on the shafts of columns
Fresco—Decoration in color on plaster. True fresco is painted while the plaster is wet
Gable—Triangular end of a pitched roof building between the level of the eaves and the ridge of the roof
Gable roof—Roof consisting of two sloping sides like an inverted trough
Grout— A fluid mixture of cement, sand, and water, or cement and water: the hardened equivalent of such mixtures
Lintel—Beam across the top of opening such as a doorway
Pagoda—Multistoried tower, usually with projecting roofs at each story that curve upward, often topped with a stupa
Pilaster—Rectangular, columnlike projection from a pier or wall
Post-and-lintel construction—System of construction with vertical columns (posts) and horizontal beams (lintels) that carry the load over an opening
Rib—Curved structural member that supports a curved shape
Rotunda—Circular room under a dome
Tracery—Decorative openwork of stone or wood, as in the upper part of a Gothic window
Travertine Finishes—Concrete that has a knock down finish with a smooth surface at its highest points, but rough in the low area
Vault—Arched masonry structure that forms a ceiling or roof
